1960

In Milan Ernesto Gismondi and Sergio Mazza founded Artemide; the first lamp is born, Alfa, designed by Sergio Mazza.

1965

Polluce is born, lamp designed by Enzo Mari in collaboration with Anna Fasolis.

1967

Compasso d'Oro Award for the "Eclisse" Lamp, designed by Vico Magistretti.

1972

Richard Sapper designs the lamp with a halogen light source, Tizio, which through the the years becomes a symbol of Design through out the world.

1976

After the success of Polluce, Enzo Mari designs another successful product, Aggregato, in collaboration with Giancarlo Fassina.

1980

Artemide opens there first branch in the U.S.A.

1987

Thanks to the collaboration between Michele De Lucchi e Giancarlo Fassina, Artemide launches into the market "Tolomeo", lamp which through the years becomes a symbol of the "made in Italy", present in homes and offices world wide.

1989

Compasso d'Oro Award for the "Tolomeo" lamp, designed by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina.

1995

Compasso d'Oro Award for "Career Achievements".

1996

The Human Light is the manifest that identifies the Artemide Vision: the light at the service of man and his needs. The patented "Metamorfosi" project is born.

1999

Artemide wins the "Leone di Bronzo" Award at the International advertising festival of Cannes.

2004

Compasso d'Oro Award for the "Pipe" lamp, designed by Herzog & De Meuron.

2004

Thanks to the collaboration between designers such as Carllotta de Bevilacqua, Italo Rota e Alessandro Pedretti Project A.L.S.O is born.

2004

The Nur Lamp (design Ernesto Gismondi ) and Tian-Xia (design Carlotta de Bevilacqua) from the Metamorfosi range, win the Red Dot Design Award.

2006

Artemide opens a new frontier in the illumination field: the new "My White Light" line is introduced.

2007

The "Itis" lamp designed by Naoto Fukasawa wins the Red Dot Design Award.

2008

The "Mercury" lamp designed by Ross Lovegrove wins the Red Dot Design Award - "best of the best".

2008

The "Chocolate" lamp designed by A.G. Licht wins the Red Dot Design Award.

2009

The "Noto" lamp designed by Michele De Lucchi wins the Red Dot Design Award - "best of the best".

The "Kao" lamp designed by Bruno Houssin wins the Red Dot Design Award - "best of the best".

The "Pirce" lamp designed by Giuseppe Maurizio Scutellà wins the Red Dot Design Award.
